Since last week knowing this movie is came out, I immediately watch and search the trailer on youtube. Of course I know that this movie its about outer space. Indeed I am not prefer like movies about space. But I quite curious about this movie, some review told that The Martian is the one of best films of the year. Dont you excited? 🙂
The Martian was like the movie that I ever seen before. Did you know Gravity, Stargate or Armageddon? Ya, The Martian is something like that. The film is based on Andy Weir’s 2011 novel The Martian, which was adapted into a screenplay by Drew Goddard. Damon stars as an astronaut who is mistakenly presumed dead and left behind on the planet Mars, and who then fights to survive. With this film, I felt it was something entirely new. Matt Damon’s character Mark Watney is stranded alone on Mars and has to figure out how to live. He was trapped on Mars and he has to survive until anyone could pick him up.
Mark Watney and team got mission to Mars. But in their mission on Mars, great storms and require them to return to the Earth. But, Watney is hit by an intense storm, so it makes him lost and presumed dead. With the lives of her crew at stake, mission commander Melissa Lewis is forced to leave the planet, leaving Watney behind.
But luckyly Watney is a botanist and a mechanical engineer. He knew how to survive on Mars. With food supplies and limited oxygen, he was able to survive for 1 full year. Seeing there is life on Mars, NASA engineers Vincent Kapoor and Mindy Park realize that Watney has survived, and immediately start planning to establish contact, is by Pathfinder Probe. It is like the tool by using a specific password as a means of communication. Yeaa.. But it’s not as easy as it was Watney could return to Earth. Many of the obstacles he had to face.
The film was fiction. And there is some argue from some scientists about The Martian. About gravity, which really isn’t like that. But you should really read the book before you go see the film. Not because the film is bad by any means, but because the novel offers so much more. Many scenes that were not shown in the movie. that made me amazed is when Watney shapeshifting body becomes very thin. I hardly think that is Matt Damon *LOL. You should watch this movie.
But whatever it is, just watch and enjoy the movie 🙂
